The Sponsors of Mass Save offer rebates on ENERGY STAR® certified tankless (on-demand) water heaters.

On-demand (or instantaneous) water heaters generate hot water on an as-needed basis. This is the most efficient tankless option, avoiding heat loss associated with hot water storage tanks.

ENERGY STAR® certified models heat your water just like standard models but with much less energy—saving you up to $3,500 over a unit’s lifetime.

In alignment with the commonwealth’s climate policy and goals, the Sponsors of Mass Save are discontinuing rebates and financing for equipment powered by natural gas, oil and propane. Eligible natural gas, oil and propane heating and water heating equipment must be purchased and installed by August 31, 2024, and all necessary documentation submitted by September 30, 2024, to receive a rebate. Customers interested in applying for the 0% HEAT Loan for eligible natural gas, oil or propane equipment must request a HEAT Loan Authorization Letter by April 30, 2024.

Rebates are based on the fuel and equipment currently used to heat water in your home.
