The Sustained Excellence Award is the highest honor presented by the ENERGY STAR program and recognizes the Sponsors’ long-term commitment to leading Massachusetts to a cleaner, more energy-efficient future. Winners are part of a distinguished group of national advocates who drive value for our environment, economy and communities.

Here is just a sample of what the Sponsors were able to accomplish this past year through the Residential Retail program:

  • Drove sales of 91,845 ENERGY STAR certified appliances and electronics, including 27,344 smart thermostats
  • Invoiced 5,869,526 ENERGY STAR certified lighting products, including bulbs and fixtures through negotiated cooperative promotions, instant price discounts and direct online sales
  • Sent more than 900,000 emails and secured more than 50,000,000 paid media impressions
  • Distributed 60,000 ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs to low-income customers directly through 77 food banks and food pantries
  • Held eight virtual fundraisers to benefit area schools, resulting in an 11th-year total of over $652,000 raised, 110,980 students educated and an estimated 154,624,593 kWh saved

“We know it’s going to take all of us working together to tackle the climate crisis, and the 2022 ENERGY STAR award-winning partners are demonstrating what it takes to build a more sustainable future,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “These companies are showing once again that taking action in support of a clean energy economy can be good not only for the environment, but also for business and customers.”
