ENERGY STAR® Certified LEDs Can Be Both Beautiful and Energy-Efficient
Lighting accounts for about ten percent of the electricity use in the average U.S. home. LEDs (light emitting diode) provide the same amount of brightness as traditional bulbs but use up to 90% less energy. Each incandescent bulb you replace with an ENERGY STAR certified LED bulb can save you more than $100 in energy costs over the LED’s lifetime. Imagine if you replaced all of your light bulbs!

Why choose ENERGY STAR certified LEDs? Not all LEDs are the same. Light bulbs that have earned the ENERGY STAR have undergone extensive testing to ensure they will save energy and perform as promised. Lower-quality LED bulbs might flicker, fade, or shift in color over time. They also often have a much shorter lifetime compared to ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs, which have a lifetime of at least 15,000 hours. That’s 15 times longer than an incandescent bulb, which means once you switch to LEDs you might not need to change a light bulb for over 15 years.
