Statement on the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs’s (EEA) Statewide Greenhouse Gas Reduction Goals Announcement

The Massachusetts Program Administrators (Sponsors of Mass Save®) support the Commonwealth’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and are proud of our work to help Massachusetts be a national leader in the clean energy economy. We congratulate EEA for setting this ambitious greenhouse gas emissions reduction goal, and we look forward to continuing to work together through our energy efficiency programs to achieve that goal.

The Commonwealth continues to stand out as a leader with its ambitious clean energy goals, and the Program Administrators and our valued partners will, as we always have, rise to the challenge of addressing climate change in our energy efficiency work. With our proven and award-winning programs continuing to deliver on our savings targets, we are pleased that energy efficiency will have an even stronger role in achieving the Commonwealth’s climate goals.

We look forward to continuing our important work together and undertaking the new challenges set forth with this new goal. Just as we responded to the groundbreaking Green Communities Act in 2008 by successfully expanding access to energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions since then, we’re ready for this new challenge.
