Interactive, hands-on training on variable frequency drives (VFDs), how to identify applications for VFDs, and how to set them up to save energy, with a focus on commercial buildings. Agenda:

  • What are variable frequency drives (VFDs)
  • Identifying appropriate applications for VFDs
  • Choosing the right device for the application
  • How to set up VFDs to achieve energy savings - Control strategies (temperature differential, pressure differential, flow rate, etc.), Collaboration with controls vendors, Integration with existing control systems, How to optimize savings in various applications
  • Pros and cons of using VFDs
