MA R8.1 Real-World Residential Stretch Energy Code Compliance

The Massachusetts Stretch Code has been in effect for several years and in this time has brought a variety of code compliance challenges and opportunities. This course will explore some real-world examples of common points of confusion in the energy code based on real questions submitted to the Mass Save Energy Code Technical Support Hotline and will guide participants through how to solve complex compliance challenges for multiple advanced case studies. Part 1 will focus on residential case studies excluding multi-family buildings.

1. Apply proper code enforcement strategies to complicated scenarios
2. Justify when it's appropriate to seek official code interpretation
3. Judge what to do when there are "grey areas" of the code
4. Evaluate the limits of software used for code compliance
