Course Description:

The Targeted Performance Path of the Massachusetts Stretch Code 2023/2025 requires projects to use energy modeling to demonstrate compliance with heating and cooling Thermal Energy Demand Intensity (TEDI) targets. This one-hour training focuses on common mistakes observed in projects following the Targeted Performance Path and provides strategies for identifying and avoiding them. The training presents real case studies of projects modeled in various building energy modeling tools. It also walks through a sample TEDI Compliance Tool, highlighting features that support quality control checks, error detection, and opportunities for improvement.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize and explain common energy modeling errors in projects pursuing the Targeted Performance Path of Massachusetts Commercial Stretch Code 2023/2025.
  2. Analyze case study energy models from multiple building energy modeling tools to assess when one of the common mistakes has been made.
  3. Apply quality control strategies using the TEDI Compliance Tool to detect errors, verify inputs, and evaluate opportunities to improve project performance
