The industry is moving away from R410A refrigerants to A2L refrigerants, like R-454B and R-32, to comply with the EPA’s transition rule. Beginning January 1, 2026, the EPA ruling prohibits the installation of new HVAC systems with GWPs >700. The Heat Pump Qualified Product List will reflect this update by removing any R410 refrigerants to align with the new standard.
