Some rebates may require additional levels of verification of the existing equipment. This includes
Induction Stoves:
Customers pursuing induction stove rebates must verify that their existing stove is natural gas or propane either through a Home Energy Assessment or by submitting photos of the existing stove and the new stove, once installed, with the rebate application. Customers failing to validate through one of these options will not be eligible.
Windows:
To qualify for this incentive, your existing windows must be verified during a Home Energy Assessment. The assessment will verify the quantity of single pane windows eligible for replacement. During this assessment, an Energy Specialist will also assess your current energy usage and recommend improvements to save energy in your home (such as insulation and air sealing upgrades, window upgrades, etc.). Verification must be completed within two years of rebate submission.
The specialist will also verify the number of single-pane windows you are eligible to replace. If they determine that air sealing and insulation upgrades are needed, you will be required to make these changes in order to receive incentives for window replacements.
Visit the Windows page for more details on efficiency requirements for window rebates.
Clothes Washers:
The clothes washer incentive requires your existing equipment to be verified as an operational, top-loading machine with an agitator within a year of rebate submission. Your existing clothes washer can be verified during a Home Energy Assessment or a Pre-Verification Inspection. During a Home Energy Assessment, your whole home’s energy usage will be assessed. A Pre-Verification Inspection can be conducted virtually and will only verify your existing clothes washer.
You can request a Pre-Verification Inspection here. Once you log on using your electric account number, you will answer a few short questions about your pre-existing equipment. If your existing equipment meets the eligibility requirements, you may submit a request.
Visit the Clothes Washers page for more details on efficiency requirements for clothes washer rebates.
