Instructor:

Melissa Stewart, Engineering Manager, VEIC - Melissa specializes in the implementation and analysis of energy efficiency and building decarbonization measures. A key member of VEIC’s Industrial Process Technology Solutions Group, she leads research and development on the use of industrial-scale heat pumps, high temperature heat pump modelling, heat recovery, and potential greenhouse gas savings in the industrial refrigeration sector. She is an expert in natural and low-GWP refrigerants and has consulted on ASHRAE refrigerant code standards for R32 technology and provided recommendations on the general applicability of R32 and natural refrigerant technology for systems in Vermont. An experienced and engaging technical communicator, Melissa has also developed training on refrigerant policy and installation considerations in the HVAC sector for both internal and external clients.
