Why They Are a 2023 Climate Leader
The Sponsors of Mass Save selected Boston University as a 2023 Climate Leader for their ongoing sustainability efforts and commitment to environmental consciousness. In a major overhaul of equipment and controls at their Agganis Arena facilities, they saved 4 million kWh in electricity and an impressive 33.4% site energy savings.
They also extended their commitment to energy efficiency with an HVAC retrofit of their contemporary StuVi2 student apartments, which resulted in a site energy savings of 635K kWh. Additionally, Boston University extended its commitment to sustainability through its zero-waste plan, comprehensive solar goals, and long-term plan as presented to the Boston Green Ribbon Commission.
