Mass General Brigham has continually taken action to save energy, reduce their carbon footprint, and adopt sustainability best practices throughout their network, including decreasing waste and limiting toxic chemical usage. Mass General Brigham has undertaken significant upgrades to their facilities' lighting and climate control systems over the past four years. These efforts to improve the functionality, efficiency, and comfort of key healthcare facilities have resulted in an electricity usage reduction of 16.6 million kWh over nearly three years. Mass General Brigham's demonstrated commitment to improving environmental and health outcomes in Massachusetts has earned them recognition as a 2025 Climate Leader.
