About Berkshire East Mountain Resort
Berkshire East Mountain Resort is a four-season resort in western Massachusetts. The resort offers skiing, downhill mountain biking, ziplining, rafting, and much more.
Berkshire East Mountain Resort is also the only ski area in the world to generate 100% of its electricity on-site from renewable energy.
Why is he a Climate Leader 2023?
The MassSave Sponsors selected Berkshire East Mountain Resort as a 2023 Climate Leader for its continued investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Several measures were implemented, including:
- A large solar field and a wind turbine installation
- Improvements in outdoor lighting for night skiing
- Improvements in energy-efficient snowmaking equipment
- Variable speed electric compressor installations
As a result of these efforts, Berkshire East Mountain Resort has saved nearly 600,000 kWh of energy and eliminated more than 500 tons of greenhouse gases.
