Existing Building Commissioning (EBCx)

Incentives to Optimize Building Performance

Existing Building Commissioning (EBCx) is an in-depth process for commercial customers to optimize their building’s performance. The EBCx offer aims to support customers undertaking commissioning to identify energy savings opportunities by optimizing performance of existing building systems. Common measures identified include improvements in building control, component repairs, and sensor calibrations.

A bench of Qualified Service Providers can provide EBCx qualification assessments and investigation studies to identify energy savings measures. Once implemented, these providers will verify that all measures have been implemented.

The Mass Save EBCx offer supports customers commissioning their existing buildings. Through this offer, the Sponsors of Mass Save will:

  • Offer up to 100% of the cost of qualification and investigation studies depending on the building size and complexity.
  • Pay incentives for implemented and verified measures of $0.17/kWh and $1.20/therm on top of study payments.
