  1. Verify eligibility. Confirm that your household income meets the eligibility requirements before applying for the enhanced rebate. Start by verifying your eligibility online. For assistance qualifying over the phone, call 1-888-714-3990. If your Mass Save Sponsor is Cape Light Compact, call 1-800-797-6699 to get verified.
  2. Weatherize your home. All weatherization updates recommended for your home during the Home Energy Assessment must be completed prior to applying for the enhanced rebate. All weatherization work is available at no cost for income verified customers. Call 866-527-7283 to schedule a Home Energy Assessment.
  3. Work with a Mass Save heat pump installer. Heat pumps must be installed by a contractor participating in the Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Network.
  4. Claim your rebate. Submit a completed rebate form online or by mail and supporting documents to receive your rebate.


  • Offers valid only for residential customers in Massachusetts where Cape Light Compact, Eversource, National Grid or Unitil is the Mass Save electric Sponsor. Customers must apply using a residential electric account.
  • Qualifying heat pump equipment must be purchased and installed by December 31, 2026.
  • Rebate form and supporting documentation must be received by February 28, 2027 for heat pump installations.
  • Equipment must meet the minimum efficiency requirements:
  • For heat pump rebates, equipment must be new and installed to either supplement or replace oil, propane, or electric baseboard (resistance) as the primary heating system.
  • Weatherization recommendations made during a Home Energy Assessment must be completed.
  • Equipment must be installed in individually metered 1-4 unit buildings or townhouses to receive the whole-home rebate.
  • Rebate not to exceed total install cost. Limit one (1) rebate per customer account, maximum of $25,000.
