Three-peat: Teaming Up with Massachusetts Fallen Heroes
October 18, 2018
For the third year in a row, the Sponsors of Mass Save® – Cape Light Compact, Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil – are proudly teaming up with Massachusetts Fallen Heroes to administer an LED campaign. Similar to previous years, the Sponsors are offering a limited-time sale on specialty lighting packs, with half of all proceeds going to support Massachusetts Fallen Heroes and its valuable work honoring and supporting Veterans, the Fallen, and their families.
The goal of this sale is to offer customers the opportunity to deliver greater good to the community, simply by purchasing energy-efficient products. During the last two years, participation has led to nearly $55,000 raised for Massachusetts Fallen Heroes in support of its mission of honoring the Fallen, assisting Gold Star Families, and empowering returning Veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Among many other achievements, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes has brought awareness to the sacrifice of the Fallen by designing and building a memorial in the Seaport District; established programs, services, and a supportive community for families of the Fallen; and developed a Veteran’s Edge program providing legal, healthcare, housing, and education services to Veterans and their families.
As the collaboration between the Mass Save Sponsors and Massachusetts Fallen Heroes continues to grow each year, so does this fantastic offer. To support the campaign this year, the Sponsors are offering an amazing deal: a 15-piece LED lighting set, which traditionally retails for $75, for only $10. Residential electric customers of the participating Sponsors can receive a set of four 60W-equivalent LEDs, four 100W-equivalent LEDs, four 75W-equivalent LEDs, and two 100W-equivalent 3-way LEDs – available in either a warm white or daylight color temperature – plus an LED desk lamp.
If you’re thinking to yourself, “That’s a lot for only $10…”, you are correct! Plus, for every set sold, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes will receive $5. This is easily one of the best offers of the year, and for good reason, with Massachusetts Fallen Heroes being such an honorable organization.
And the benefits don’t stop there! Not only will your purchase support Massachusetts Fallen Heroes, but it will also support energy efficiency across the state. ENERGY STAR® certified LEDs, such as the ones included in these lighting sets, are up to 90% more energy-efficient than incandescent bulbs. By simply upgrading your lighting to LEDs, you can save more than $100 in energy costs over the lifetime of each bulb replaced. On top of the energy-savings, ENERGY STAR certified LEDs are expected to last at least 15,000 hours. It’s likely that you might not have to change these bulbs out for 20 years or longer once installed. In the last two sales, participants purchased nearly 92,000 LEDs, resulting in an estimated 19.7 million kWh saved over the lifetime of these bulbs. With this year’s deluxe lighting set containing 15 LED products, your purchase could have even more of an impact.
Ready to take part in this year’s campaign?! Thanks to support from TechniArt, it’s easy to participate in this great offer. You can either make your purchase online or visit TechniArt’s pop-up retail booth at any of these events this year. Let’s make the third year of this campaign a three-peat of success!
About Massachusetts Fallen Heroes
Established in 2010 by Boston firefighters, local Veterans, Gold Star Families, police officers, and other patriotic citizens, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes is a local organization committed to honoring the Fallen and providing advocacy services for local Veterans and Gold Star Families. The Massachusetts Fallen Heroes’ Memorial in Boston’s Seaport serves as a public tribute to those who gave their lives serving in the Global War on Terrorism since 2001.
Massachusetts Fallen Heroes has evolved from a charity geared towards building a tribute honoring Fallen Heroes to a multifaceted organization that now acts as a liaison in acquiring educational, employment, medical, legal, financial and numerous additional services for local military Veterans, their families, and families of the Fallen. The organization also hosts programs to raise awareness and to provide aid, support, and scholarships to these communities.
