Do you have an old refrigerator or freezer that’s collecting dust and wasting energy? Back by popular demand, the Sponsors of Mass Save® - Cape Light Compact, Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil – are offering $50 to residential electric customers who recycle their old, outdated, and inefficient refrigerators or freezers through the Mass Save appliance recycling program.
New to the program this year, Mass Save is offering residents the opportunity to recycle their primary refrigerator OR a secondary “garage” or “basement” refrigerator or freezer. So if you were in the market for a new fridge or freezer, we can help you get rid of your old one!
In order to be eligible for the program, you must:
- Be a valid residential electric account holder of one of the Sponsors of Mass Save
- Refrigerators or freezers must be plugged in and clean and empty at the time of pick up
- Refrigerators and freezers must have an inside measurement between 10 and 30 cubic feet, which is the standard size for most units
- Maximum two units per household per calendar year will be accepted
