Intermediate Networked Lighting Controls

Timing: Thursday, April 4th @ 8AM-3PM ET

Location: National Grid - Hopedale Office 245 S Main St Hopedale, MA 01747

What additional aspects of Networked Lighting Control systems (NLCs) do you need to know to ensure a successful deployment? In many cases, you’ll need to know how the NLC system you select works with the method of emergency egress lighting available in your building. You can’t complete an NLC installation without dealing with the issue of emergency egress lighting! We will not only review this academically, but you will also wire up actual UL 924-rated emergency controllers in the class and see how they work. We will review other features that are offered by many NLC systems – such as the ability to manage color-changing. We’ll also discuss IoT – what it means, how it works, its potential benefits, cybersecurity issues, etc. Just as in the “Introductory” class, we will spend a lot of time with the attendees wiring and commissioning actual wireless NLC systems. You’ll see how a real Bluetooth system works and we’ll commission that in the class. That will help us to examine the differences between things like topologies and protocols. As in the “Introductory” class, everyone is welcome! It is vastly preferable if you can attend one of the “Introductory” sessions earlier that week prior to attending the “Intermediate” class.
