Why are the Sponsors of Mass Save providing the Energy Code Technical Support Initiative?
The Sponsors of Mass Save are providing this service as a part of our longstanding commitment to improve the energy performance of the building stock throughout Massachusetts.

This service has been added to Mass Save's existing portfolio of energy efficiency solutions to enhance our commitment to energy savings through code support.

Similar to residential and commercial energy efficiency offerings and services, this initiative is funded by electric and gas ratepayers.

Who will benefit from this initiative?
This offering is intended for code officials, design professionals, builders, subcontractors, material and equipment suppliers, and others.

What types of projects are eligible for this initiative?
All Massachusetts commercial and residential projects, both renovation/remodel and new construction, are eligible for this initiative.

Is the technical support staff qualified as code officials?
The energy code technical support staff are not code officials, and the information provided through the initiative is not a formal interpretation of the energy code. Your local code official and the Massachusetts Building Code Commission have the final word on all code subjects.

How can I request assistance to better understand the Massachusetts energy code provisions?
Mass Save provides a toll-free number at 855-757-9717 for technical assistance with the energy code for code officials and for others who have attended an energy code training session.
