Energy efficiency increases economic competitiveness, improves financial results, and protects the environment. Technical Assistance makes it possible.
Technical Assistance services tap the expertise of Program Administrators and prequalified independent engineers and consultants to help commercial, industrial, and municipal customers identify better energy management practices and implement customized energy efficiency projects.
Technical Assistance is ideally suited for specialized efficiency measures, including the selection, engineering, and installation of:
- Building envelope/weatherization improvements
- Chillers and boilers
- Combustion controls
- Compressed air systems
- Custom lighting systems
- Energy management systems
- Heat recovery
- HVAC systems
- Process and manufacturing improvements
- Pumping systems
- Steam systems
- Variable frequency drives
Technical Assistance is also the basis for more targeted services, including Commissioning, and Retro-Commissioning.
Benefits of Technical Assistance
Technical Assistance enables significant improvements in the energy efficiency of key equipment and systems, while also:
- Helping building owners and operators understand the energy costs in their buildings
- Reducing operating costs and fostering improved profitability
- Promoting environmentally friendly operations by reducing the carbon footprint of the business
- Educating staff regarding energy-efficient technologies and practices
The Technical Assistance process is highly collaborative and interactive. The commitment and involvement of the customer’s staff is essential to achieve the greatest possible improvements in energy efficiency.
Costs and Incentives
Financial assistance helps defray the cost of Technical Assistance and the implementation of efficiency measures. Program Administrators share the cost of the Technical Assistance consultant’s work by paying up to 50% of the cost.
